A full subsurface team for every well you operate.
Petronome is an AI agent platform for oil and gas operators. Five specialist agents covering geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering and production engineering work your data together, and an experienced petroleum engineer reviews every result before it reaches you.
Most fields are run without the whole team in the room.
Smaller operators and mature, marginal fields rarely have every subsurface discipline in-house. Studies wait in line for a few specialists, and decisions on workovers, artificial lift and new perforations get made with part of the picture.
Petronome puts every discipline on the same well at the same time. Each agent reads the data the way its specialist would, then checks its conclusions against the others before anything is recommended.
The agents
Five specialist agents, each working its own discipline and sharing findings with the rest of the team.
Geologist
- Correlates formation tops and sand bodies across wells
- Maps sand continuity and depositional trends
- Flags intervals that may have been bypassed
Geophysicist
- Ties seismic data to well logs
- Interprets horizons and faults around the well
- Checks structural risk on new targets
Petrophysicist
- Interprets open-hole and cased-hole logs
- Estimates shale volume, porosity and water saturation
- Ranks net pay sand by sand
Reservoir engineer
- Reviews pressure and production history
- Runs decline and material balance analysis
- Estimates remaining recoverable volume per sand
Production engineer
- Screens workover and well intervention candidates
- Reviews ESP and other artificial lift designs against well inflow
- Tracks lost production and its causes
Questions Petronome is built to answer
Each question needs more than one discipline. That is where a team of agents earns its keep.
- Which idle or low-rate wells are worth a workover?Production history, completion records and log interpretation combined into a ranked candidate list.
- Is this ESP sized right for the well?Pump design checked against inflow performance, fluid properties and the reservoir's pressure trend.
- Which sands are still behind pipe?Log interpretation and correlation used to find unperforated pay in existing wells.
- Why is this field declining faster than forecast?Decline, pressure and well events read together to separate reservoir causes from well problems.
- Which idle wells can come back online, and what will it take?Shut-in history, last known condition and remaining pay reviewed to rank reactivation candidates and the job each one needs.
- Is scale building up in this well, and what will stop it?Water analysis, failure history and production trends used to assess scaling risk and choose a treatment.
How it works
From raw well files to a report your team can audit.
-
Share your data
Well logs, completion history, production and pressure records, in the formats you already use.
-
Agents work in parallel
Each agent analyses its part and cross-checks the others, the way a subsurface team meets around one well.
-
Engineer review
A petroleum engineer checks the interpretation, the assumptions and every recommendation.
-
Decision-ready report
Candidate rankings, designs and the reasoning behind them, written so your team can verify each step.
Built by a production engineer
Petronome was founded by a petroleum engineer with seven years in production engineering on mature onshore fields. That work covered workover and well intervention candidate screening, idle well reactivation, ESP design, scale management and daily production surveillance.
It also meant building data tools that bring production, completion and subsurface records together for engineering decisions. Petronome turns that workflow into a team of agents, so operators without a full in-house team can work the same way.
Built on Claude
Petronome's agents run on Claude, Anthropic's AI model. Well files are long and detailed, and Claude can reason across a full completion history, log interpretation and years of production data in one pass, then explain each step of its reasoning.
Every conclusion comes with the data and logic behind it, so engineers can check the work instead of trusting a black box.
Early access
Petronome is in early access. We are taking on a small number of pilot projects with oil and gas operators in Indonesia.
Data you share is used only for your project.
